In a poignant display of peaceful resistance, a Palestinian woman in the village of Bilin, near the State of Palestine’s de facto capital of Ramallah, has just planted a garden that is full of beautiful flowers of all different kinds inside tear gas grenades that were collected from clashes between local Palestinians as well as Israeli.
She did all this with the help of her friends and family. This was done by growing the flowers on a plot of land located in an area that was reclaimed by the Palestinians about two years ago at that time in a court battle that re-routed the construction of Israel’s highly controversial security wall. Some of these even have wires attached so that they can be attached to fences or other objects and not fall off.
The use of a weapon as a plant vessel is a powerful comment on a region or any other metaphorically in which most people are tired of conflict and violence buy wanting peace.
Here is how human spirits are sometimes shown.
